The Logo The logo for Djarragun was designed by architect Adam Guernier who has highlighted the prominent feature of Djarragun against the radiating corona of Aboriginal spirituality depicted in dot art style. In addition the colours are representative of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait cultures, the background of our students and many of our staff. |

Walsh's Pyramid, as it is known by the European settlers, rises almost 1000 metres above the surrounding countryside. But unlike the Egyptian pyramid, which was a man-made mausoleum that heralded the Pharaohs into the land of the Dead, Djarragun represents, in the local Aboriginal mythology, procreation into the Land of the Living. This is the brooding place, the nesting ground of Djarruga, the scrub hen, from which new life issues forth. How very apt for a School of Thought. The land on which the school is situated and the "Pyramid" are the traditional lands of the Yidinyji-Malanbarra and we hereby acknowledge and thank the traditional owners of these lands.
