The History of Djarragun College

Construction at the new site for Djarragun College, at the corner of Maher Road and the Bruce Highway, started in 2000. On 5 February 2001, school officially started when students arrived for their first school day, in unrelenting rain, the school grounds a sea of mud. Much has changed since then, as can be seen here, with trees, grass and shrubs in front of the Primary Classroom block; the kitchen for Hospitality Studies and behind it, our Assembly area are in the background.

Construction is continuing unabated. A second Boarding house and a Computer- and Art Room complex were officially opened by the then Federal Minister of Education, Brendon Nelson, a spacious Dining Hall and modern kitchen was completed in 2006 and a new Library complex in 2007.

A Sports Oval is laid out and for 2008 a brand new Primary School campus is being planned.
